- Tcl/tk free download. Tcl Tool Command Language (Tcl) is an interpreted language and very portable interpreter for that langua.
- Tcl Basics (PDF 118P) This note introduces the basics of Tcl. Chapter1 describes the fundamental properties of the language. Chapter 2 is a short introduction to running Tcl and Tk on UNIX, Windows and Macintosh systems. Chapter 3 presents a sample application, a CGI script, that implements a guestbook for a Web site.
Tcl (Tool Command Language) is two things: a scripting language and an interpreter for that language that is designed to be easy to embed into other applications. As a language, it is much like UNIX shell languages. There is very little syntax and it is easy to learn. It is used to glue together building blocks built in system programming languages like C, C++, and Java. These building blocks appear as commands, or verbs, in the script language. It is easy to embed Tcl into a legacy program so you can script the behavior of that program and add in other building blocks like a GUI interface. The Tcl interpreter is written in C and has been ported to almost every computer platform. Here is an introductory chapter on Tcl programming.

- Super!
- Brilliant project! Everybody should check this out! (Especially ones who want a scripting language or want to embed one language into his own program.) I never found a good scripting language until I checked out Tcl. Tcl is a super extensible language I would ever expect. It comes with A LOT OF extensions. It's C API is clean and easy-to-use, the best I've seen so far. Tcl soon became my choice of primary programming language. Also, its performance isn't worse than Ruby. Good job, TCT!
- Although it is not anything extremely amazing it fulfils al of its promises.
